SCALP HYDROGEL

Using SCALP HYDROGEL to treat damp in walls, involves injecting a solution containing active water-repellent compounds into the thickness of the walls. As these compounds come into contact with water, they react by forming a waterproof barrier against the rise of water through capillary action. The waterproofing action of SCALP HYDROGEL prevents the formation of saltpetre and the blistering and peeling off of exterior and interior coatings and, over time, the weakening of the structure.

Step 1

Prep work : Clean all salt-contaminated surfaces. Clear the injection area and, if possible, remove all wall coatings, paints and anything that could get in the way of drilling (panelling, plinths etc.). Check the thickness of the different walls to prepare a sufficient quantity of product.

Step 2

Drilling : Drill a horizontal series of holes, approximately 14 mm in diameter, 10 to 12 cm apart, in a line parallel to the ground. Vertically, the holes must be on 2 different levels 10 cm apart.

Step 3

Injection : Insert the gel sachet inside the injection gun, unscrew the cap and push the injection nozzle as far it will go inside the hole, then pull it out a few centimetres. Now gently pull the gun trigger and fill the hole with SCALP HYDROGEL, up to 1 cm of the wall surface. Fill up the holes with cement or cement / whitewash mortar.
